Abstract

Abstract : (Abstracted from Anesthesiology, 122:1103–1111, 2015) As postoperative pain after hysterectomy is associated not only with patient discomfort and dissatisfaction, but also with risk for postoperative morbidity and mortality and increased medical costs owing to extended hospital stays, determining ways to avoid postoperative pain and any other factors that lengthen hospital stays has both economic and patient-safety implications. In 2011, the fibromyalgia survey criteria were described for use in lieu of the 1990 criteria.
