Abstract

Highlights: Antimicrobial loaded films were easily produced by solvent casting. Antimicrobials showed a sustained release either alone or in combination. Ciprofloxacin concentrations higher than IC50 of several bacteria were achieved. Chitosan based films were active against P. aeruginosa in a disk diffusion assay.
