Abstract

Abstract : Chiroptical photoswitches are potentially applicable in advanced information technologies. A photoresponsive molecule bearing two pyrene units with a one‐handed helicity constitutes supramolecular nanoparticles, displaying an enhanced circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) activity. UV light irradiation changes the molecular structure, separating the pyrene units to deactivate the CPL activity. In association with the photoreaction, the nanoparticles show secondary aggregation. Upon visible light irradiation, the molecule reverts to its original form and the CPL activity comes back with the dissociation of secondary aggregates.
