Abstract

Abstract : High‐throughput drug screening and drug testing requires artificial liver mimics to account for metabolization. In article number1801954, Seung‐Woo Cho and co‐workers report a drug testing platform based on vascularized, three‐dimensional liver organoids. Resulting from the joint application of direct programming, matrix engineering to represent a liver microenvironment, and microfluidics, the approach is promising as patient‐relevant screening platform for drug development and for cell replacement therapy.
