Abstract

Abstract : Speciality materials and additives producer Eastman Chemical generated sales of US$2.607 billion in the first quarter of 2018, up 13% from sales of $2.303 billion in 1Q 2017. EBIT, which the company now uses as its primary measure of operating performance, rose 2% from $401 million in 1Q 2017 to $409 million this year. Net earnings attributable to Eastman reached $290 million, a year-over-year increase of 4.3%.
