Abstract

Abstract : Given Mexican reality, human rights respect is low, affected by an important disparity in quality of life, with nationwide sectors living in poverty and huge historical ethnic differences. These article presents results of two opinion surveys about human rights knowledge and opinions, applied on February 2015 and February 2017 by the authors' research team to a random sample of general population adults living in Mexico City. General knowledge about the meaning of "human rights", opinions about these rights' respect level in the country, in Mexico City and in six problematic states were explored. Problems recognizing characteristics of fundamental rights, about the relationship between government and the respect and guarantee of these rights were found and all this results in a vulnerable citizen.
