- Abstract : We demonstrate multi‐fold speed enhancement of liquid crystal phase modulators through laser written sub‐micron scaffolds. The versatile fabrication process allows devices with arbitrary liquid crystal alignment and, therefore, polarization dependence. We lastly discuss the prospects of the technology for large area (>0.5 in 2 ) spatial light modulators.
