Abstract

Abstract : The Cover Feature shows a copper‐loaded TiO2 ‐SiO2 photocatalyst for the oxidation of organic pollutants in water. In their Full Paper, T. Čižmar et al. demonstrate that the photocatalytic activity of a TiO2 ‐SiO2 synthesized using a low‐temperature sol–gel method is increased by loading with copper in concentrations from 0.05 to 0.1 mol % as a result of metal‐to‐metal charge transfer in Ti−O−Cu complexes at TiO2 surfaces. At higher Cu loadings, CuO nanoparticles on the surface of TiO2 hinder the photocatalytic activity of the material. More information can be found in the Full Paper by T.
