Abstract

Abstract : Development of self‐alignment technology without using conventional alignment layer materials is important for future LCDs such as flexible and/or narrow‐frame LCDs. We have developed a new fabrication method and its materials for obtaining a uniaxially homogeneous alignment of LC without forming the conventional alignment layer produced from a polyimide film.
