It provides recommendations on the stages that are required for the successful evaluation, purchase, installation and reliable operation of analytical instrumentation. The overall intention is to recommend a process where an analyst can make a confident recommendation of instrumentation that meets the desired specification. In addition, guidance is offered to ensure clarity in the roles and responsibilities of those involved in the overall procurement of a major analytical instrument.
