Abstract

Abstract : In article number1800310, Nan Ma, Ulrike Alexiev, and co‐workers develop a sensitive and reproducible fluorescence lifetime based imaging assay (FLIM‐ROX) for reactive oxygen species (ROS) detection that allows the investigation of low cellular stress levels as a consequence of ROS production. Using FLIM‐ROX, the nanotoxicity of subcytotoxic amounts of nanoparticles is demonstrated by linking cellular adverse effects, such as cellular morphology changes, elevated senescence, and DNA damage, to low‐level oxidative stress.
