Abstract

Abstract : In an effort to place the recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report publications regarding conception options for mixed-status couples with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in perspective, we review the historical evolution of conception options for mixed-status couples with HIV with particular focus on the potential need for fertility treatment and the feasibility of accessing such treatment. Abstract : Despite initial hurdles, over the past 40 years, conception options for mixed-status couples with human immunodeficiency virus have increased and should now include fertility services when applicable.
