Abstract : It has never been more important for businesses to strengthen their IT security. Amid a growing, more sophisticated range of threats and increasing EU legislation that will dispense large fines to those failing to smarten up and protect their data, time is now of the essence. Amid a growing, more sophisticated range of threats and increasing EU legislation that will dispense large fines to those failing to smarten up and protect their data, organisations need to get their act together. It's important that all businesses prepare themselves for the new regulations – and do it now. In the process, they may find they accrue a number of business benefits.
