- Abstract : The absorbing composites enhanced by the bionic shape and the bioabsorbent were prepared using a two‐roll mixer and a vulcanizing machine. The electromagnetic (EM) parameters were measured by a vector network analyzer and the reflection loss (RL) was calculated and simulated using the commercial software in the frequency range of 2–18 GHz. The static mechanical property was measured using the universal tensile testing machine. The dynamic mechanical property was obtained from the Payne effect using the rubber processing analyzer. The results confirmed that as the bioabsorbent was added, the permittivity and permeability increased due to the volume content of absorbents and the particle interaction. Using the bionic design on the composite, the absorbing property was enhanced and the absorbing band was widened to 8–18 GHz as RL was lower than −8 dB. Finally, the mechanical property was enhanced due to the surface shape of the bioabsorbent and the cohesive force in the composite. Therefore, biotechnology including the bioabsorbent and the bionic design is a promising method on improving the absorber property. POLYM.
