- Abstract: The nonlinear-radiative flow of γ A l 2 O 3 − H 2 O and γ A l 2 O 3 − C 2 H 6 O 2 through a thin slit is considered in the presence of magnetic field and resistive heating. Self-similar flow model of the nanofluids is obtained with the help of feasible set of similarity transformations. The nonlinear nanofluid model thus obtained is tackled by means of Runge-Kutta numerical method. Influence of pertinent parameters are investigated on the flow regimes. The behavior of skin friction coefficient and local rate of heat transfer is portrayed graphically. It is concluded that R d favors the temperature of the flow system. On the other hand, unsteady parameter and volumetric fraction of nanoparticles lead to decrement in temperature. For the temperature ratio parameter β w, a rapid rise in temperature is observed and for γ A l 2 O 3 − H 2 O, the temperature rises rapidly. It is also observed that for nanofluids, heat transfer increases rapidly and decreases slowly as compared to that of conventional fluids. Highlights: Flow through a thin elastic slit has been considered. Two types of base fluids have been considered. A comparison of current results with the existing ones has also been presented. Graphical analysis has been carried out coupled with comprehensive discussions.
