Abstract

Abstract : A novel sandwich-type tungstoantimonate with ferrous ions was synthesized and its functional application in electrochemical sensing of dopamine was demonstrated. Abstract : Herein, a sandwich-type tungstoantimonate [Na(H2 O)2 ]3 [C3 H5 N2 ]2 [SbW9 O33 ]2 [Fe II (C3 H4 N2 )]3 ·4H2 O (1 ) has been synthesized using iron powder as a starting material under conventional reaction conditions. The structure of1 was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and further characterized by IR spectrum, UV-vis spectra, and diffuse reflectance spectrum. The successful synthesis of compound1 demonstrates an effective method for the synthesis of Fe II -based polyoxometalates. The functional applications of compound1 in both photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange and electrochemical sensing of dopamine were also demonstrated experimentally.
