Abstract

Abstract : ( Int J Obstet Anesth . 2017;30:5–9) While previous studies have suggested that obese women suffer fewer postdural puncture headaches (PDPHs) associated with spinal anesthesia, data are lacking regarding the association between body mass index (BMI) and the development of spinal headache after an accidental dural puncture (ADP) with a large gauge epidural needle. This retrospective study was undertaken to determine whether obesity is associated with fewer PDPHs after an ADP during epidural placement for labor analgesia.
