- Graphical abstract: Abstract: An efficient and general protocol is described for the synthesis of bisindolylmethanes by the reaction of indole with aldehydes in the presence of BF3 ·OEt2 . The method is rapid and applicable for aromatic, heteroaromatic, and aliphatic aldehydes.
