Abstract

Abstract : The front cover picture shows the structure of the zirconium‐based metal–organic framework NU‐1200 and the principles we use to develop new materials. In essence, we use design concepts to envision new crystalline porous materials followed by synthetic organic and inorganic chemistry to construct new architectures and modify the structures to expose new properties. These strategies are interwoven and work together to give us the tools to create functional porous materials. Details are discussed in the Communication by J. T. Hupp, O. K.
