Abstract

Abstract : (Abstracted from Obstet Gynecol 2017;130:393–402) It is estimated that half of postpartum women use birth control methods that are not reliable, resulting in high rates of repeat pregnancies, short interpregnancy intervals, and adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. The use of more reliable long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) methods, such as intrauterine devices (IUDs), has not become widely used by the majority of the population in most settings.
