Abstract

Abstract : ( Am J Obstet Gynecol . 2016;215(6):712–721) Placenta accreta (PA) is the invasion or abnormal attachment of placental tissue to uterine musculature and can lead to major hemorrhage and other serious outcomes. There are 3 categories of PA: placenta creta, when villi only adhere to the myometrium but do not invade it; placenta increta (PI), in which the villi penetrate the myometrium only to the external layer; and placenta percreta (PP), in which the villi reaches or penetrates the uterine serosa.
