- Abstract : The direct approach : Methane is a potential key player in the world's transition to a more sustainable energy future. The direct conversion of carbon dioxide into methane is highly desirable to lower the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere and also to store renewable energy. This Highlight describes the first homogeneous system for the light‐driven conversion of CO2 into CH4 .
