Abstract

ABSTRACT: In May 2017 (for the third time), crypto history enthusiasts met for the European Historical Ciphers Colloquium (Euro HCC). It took place in Smolenice, Slovakia. Interesting talks were given, among other things about the Enigma, First World War ciphers, spy ciphers, and cryptanalysis of historical encryption methods. Next year's edition will take place in Uppsala, Sweden, with the conference being renamed as "HistoCrypt." The 2018 Call for Papers is open.
