Abstract

Highlights: Vesicant injuries undergo a different pathophysiology than normal acid or alkali burns. Vesicant injuries usually do not present until 24–48 h after the exposure. Conservative therapy is the mainstay of treatment for vesicant injuries. Vesicant injuries may become more commonly seen, given geopolitical instability.
