Abstract

Abstract: A novel, general and efficient approach for the conversion of carbohydrates to cyclitols was developed utilizing Mn/CrCl3 mediated domino Bernet‐Vasella reductive elimination of diiodo precursor of a sugar and NHK reaction to produce four, five and six membered cyclitols.
