- ABSTRACT: This paper reports the study on phase polymorphism and electro-optic properties of two nanosystems: MHOBS10/ZnO and MHOBS10/Ag. A small addition of nanoparticles leads to considerable change in the electro-optic response but does not change the phase polymorphism, with only slight lowering of the phase transition temperatures. This has been attributed to a different distribution of the nanoparticles within the liquid crystal matrix.
