Abstract

Abstract : One of the most naturally abundant terpenes, limonene (A), can be radically copolymerized with maleimide (B) and methacrylate (C) in a fluorinated alcohol to result in a terpolymer with unprecedented BAB‐ random ‐C sequences. In their Communication onpage 1789 ff., K. Satoh, M. Kamigaito, and M. Ojika show that the sequence is a consequence of selective BAB polymerization between limonene and maleimide, almost exclusive homopolymerization of methacrylate during copolymerization of limonene and methacrylate, and random copolymerization between methacrylate and maleimide.
