Abstract

Abstract : The cover picture shows the structural hierarchy of Ga‐doped, desilicated ZSM‐5, an effective methanol aromatization catalyst. With a moderate alkalinity in desilication, both meso‐ and microporosities can be enhanced. Improved mesoporosity accelerates inward and outward diffusions in ZSM‐5 matrix: the former allows hexahydrated Ga 3+ transfer into cavities to form (GaO) + ‐Brønsted acid sites during impregnation, while the latter suppresses cracking by shortening residence time of yielded aromatics in ZSM‐5 channels. Micropores with a narrow pore size distribution can boost the selectivity for aromatics, such as o‐xylene, m‐xylene, and ethylbenzene. More information can be found in the Full Paper by Lai et al.
