- Abstract: Graphene-doped zinc oxide with column-like morphology was synthesized by an in-situ hydrothermal method. Their gas-sensing properties were then studied. The results indicated that zinc oxide decorated with graphene exhibits high selectivity for detection of ethylene glycol upon exposure to mixture of various volatile gases, and it has an enhanced response to different concentrations of ethylene glycol at 160 °C. The response and recovery times for 5 ppm ethylene glycol are 1 and 14 s, respectively, implying the unique-shape zinc oxide doped with graphene is effective for detection of low-concentration ethylene glycol.
