- Abstract: In recent years, dye - sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have received much attention as a substitute for conventional energy. Several experimental studies have been reported on synthesized and characterized of natural dye based solar cells and its properties. In this present research, attempt has been made to fabricate a combined organic and perovskite-based solar cell. Carotene which acts as an organic dye was extracted from Carrot through several steps. Additionally, synthesis of perovskite material CH3 NH3 PbCl3 was also carried out using methyl amine (CH3 NH2 ) and hydrochloric acids (HCl) as starting precursors with an aqueous solution of Pb(CH3 COO)2, 3H2 O. This synthesized material was spin-coated over FTO/TiO2 thin film for the fabrication of the perovskite-based solar cell. Finally, the layer of extracted organic dye was spin-coated onto the perovskite materials. Several characterizations have been carried out using XRD, SEM, UV tools and finally photo conversion efficiency was conducted in order to analyse the proper electrical properties of the cells. The results clearly indicates that this technology can be cost effective and substitute for a conventional energy source.
