Abstract

Abstract : Articular cartilage defects of the patellofemoral joint are a common source of pain in athletes as well as in the general population. Consideration of different factors such as defect size and depth, patient age, and subchondral bone involvement is important in determining the best treatment option. Recognition of the complex biomechanics of the patellofemoral joint is essential in ensuring positive outcomes when treating these lesions.
