- Abstract: A new [Fe−Fe]‐hydrogenase model complex [( μ ‐(SCH(CH2 CH3 )CH2 S))Fe(CO)5 ]2 (μ, k1, k1 ‐DPPF) (DPPF=1, 1′‐bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene)2 was prepared and characterized by solution IR spectrum, NMR spectrum and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The electrocatalytic property and phenol hydroxylation reactivity were investigated. In the absence of HOAc, complex2 can catalyse proton reduction to hydrogen at −2.36 V. In addition, complex2 also could catalyse the hydroxylation of phenol with the maximal phenol conversion (56.8%) and dihydroxybenzene selectivity (78.4%). Abstract : A new [Fe−Fe]‐hydrogenase model complex [( μ ‐(SCH(CH2 CH3 )CH2 S))Fe(CO)5 ]2 (μ, k1, k1 ‐DPPF)2 was prepared and characterized by solution IR spectrum, NMR spectrum and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, which has the ability for catalyzing the proton reduction and phenol hydroxylation.
