- Abstract : The development of vacancy clusters in α-Fe is essential for understanding the formation of irradiation damage. In this work, the structures and the development of vacancy clusters in α-Fe have been studied by atomistic computer simulation. It was found out that larger clusters can form by combinations of smaller cluster units including triangular trimers and square tetramers. Furthermore, the formation of stacking faults, cracks or voids can be explained by the development of the clusters.
