Abstract

Abstract : Multishelled CaO microspheres coated with an atomic‐layer‐deposition‐grown Al2 O3 layer yield high‐capacity CO2 sorbents with improved cyclic stability, as demonstrated by Christoph R. Müller and co‐workers in article number1702896 . The central void formed by the removal of the carbonaceous template accommodates the large volumetric changes of the material during cyclic operation, whereas the porous shells composed of Al2 O3 ‐coated CaO nanoparticles reduce diffusive transport limitations through the growing product layer of CaCO3 and improve the thermal stability of the sorbent.
