Abstract

Abstract : (Abstracted from Anaesthesia, 71:1210–122, 12016) Critical care physicians as well as anesthetists are increasingly turning to transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography to evaluate cardiac patients and determine management of clinically significant heart diseases. The main aim of the article is to assess the viability and effect of focused transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography on the diagnosis and management of cardiac disease following cardiac surgery weighed against conventional clinical assessment.
