- Abstract : Surv Anesthesiol 2016;60(2):45–46 In cardiac surgery patients, risks of severe bleeding or developing coagulopathy are high and may require large-volume transfusions. Poor preoperative assessment of risk of bleeding and transfusion may account for variability in the use of therapeutic treatment adjuncts that reduce bleeding and transfusion rates.
