- Abstract : Surv Anesthesiol 2016;60(2):62–63 Obesity is a global public health concern and is associated with increased risk of a number of obstetric complications, including gestational diabetes, preeclampsia and eclampsia, macrosomia, and fetal growth restriction. These adverse outcomes can be reduced by weight loss, but dietary changes, exercise, and medical management result only in short-term benefits.
