Abstract

Abstract : A method to oxidatively cleave allyl ethers to their corresponding aldehydes mediated by an oxoammonium salt is described. Using a biphasic solvent system and mild heating, cleavage proceeds readily, furnishing a variety of α, β-unsaturated aldehydes and ketones.
