- Abstract: The conductivity of an electrolyte is a property that depends on the mobility of charged species inside a solution. Electrolyte conductivity measurements is a technique used for the study of the electrical properties of solutions and solids inside the electrolyte. Impedance measurements enable the possibility of measuring the electrical properties of the system, however, the result is solid position dependent due to fringing effects of the electric field lines. In this study, we demonstrate the principle of a new method able to determine the position of the solid in electrolyte between two parallel electrodes. The technique consists of a gradient in the double layer capacitance of the electrode along one coordinate to relate the different corner frequency in the Bode plot obtained with the solid position.
