Abstract : Modern research in the Caucasus involving both obsidian artefact characterisation and sourcing enhances our knowledge of the early exploitation and exchange of this raw material (Le Bourdonnec et al .2012 ; Montoya et al .2013 ; Chatainger & Gratuze2014 ; Doronicheva & Shackley2014 ; Frahm et al .2014 ; Pleurdeau et al .2016 ).
