- Abstract : The wave of retirements is beginning to hit nursing, taking a toll on our cadre of nursing leaders. Ongoing healthcare reform is adding to the stress burden and exerting an effect on nurse leader turnover. The next generation of leaders will likely come from our millennial nurses, who have different attitudes toward work than previous generations. The AONE assembled a panel of experts to create guidelines to assist nurse executives in recruiting the next generation of talent into formal leadership roles.
