- Highlights: Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) is resurgent in Saudi Arabia. Intercontinental travel facilitates the spread of MERS-CoV infection to other global locations. Improved vigilance is imperative to curb the dissemination of infection. Discovery of an effective therapy and prophylaxis is a public health priority.
