- Highlights: The paradox was limited to heterozygous and homozygous FVL carriers. Double heterozygotes had a clinical presentation intermediate between FVL and prothrombin mutation single carriers. The higher prevalence of isolated distal vein thrombosis in FVL might in part explain the presence of paradox.
