- Abstract : (Abstracted from Nat Cell Biol 2017;19:68–75) Evidence from plant models, human-cell models, and yeast genetics has suggested that complex and localized rearrangements termed chromothripsis can be triggered by chromosome missegregation into nuclear compartments called micronuclei . Chromothripsis is likely to arise through chromosome breakage and inaccurate reassembly.
