- Abstract : Polymer nanocapsules and 2D-polymer films were successfully constructed by using a novel laterally functionalized pillararene derivative. Abstract : Laterally functionalized pillar[5]arenes were synthesized for the first time by bromination at the methylene bridge of dimethoxypillar[5]arene. The synthesized molecule was then used as a novel building block by being covalently self-assembled into polymer nanocapsules and 2D polymer films.
