- Abstract : There have been Albanians in Italy since 1448 and they have retained a sense of their own identity over the years. Many are Byzantine Catholics but, after the start of the Pentecostal outpouring in the 20th century, a number of them, now Italio-Albanians, moved to Pentecostalism. Most live in Calabria and Sicily.
