Abstract

Abstract : New techniques, newly opened doors for catalysis : Defect engineering of various oxide particles, allowing band gap reduction from both conduction and valence band directions, is easily achievable by laser ablation in liquids and laser processing in liquids. The synthesized surfactant‐free, surface‐charged, and defect‐rich oxides are versatile and can be either used directly as photocatalysts or as building blocks to construct ternary oxides, doped oxides and supported catalysts for different sustainable‐energy applications.
