Abstract

Highlights: Recent progress of high-order methods in CARDC are reviewed. Linear and nonlinear compact schemes with spectral-like resolution. The 4th-order symmetric WENN scheme through improved linear and nonlinear optimizations. High-order DG/FV hybrid schemes on unstructured and hybrid grids. Applications of high-order schemes in simulations of complex flow fields. Abstract: Some recent progress of high-order methods in China Aerodynamics Research and Development Center (CARDC) is reviewed in this paper, including the principals to design high-order method construction, series of high-order finite-difference schemes on structured grids, and discontinuous Galerkin/finite volume (DG/FV) hybrid schemes on unstructured grids. The applications of these high-order schemes are also presented to demonstrate the ability to simulate complex flow physics.
