- Abstract: Oxalic acid has been used as safe, environmentally benign and operationally simple in situ CO source for the palladium catalyzed conversion of amino‐vinyl‐bromide benzocycloheptene analogues to produce the corresponding pyrrolone‐fused benzosuberenes. The present methodology describes selective intra‐molecular carbonylative cyclization strategy to generate pyrrolone‐fused tricyclic conjugate system following semi‐synthetic approaches of Himachalene, an essential oil obtained from Cedrus deodara sp . A series of pyrrolone‐fused benzosuberenes were targeted following Pd‐catalyzed carbonylative cyclization approach. Abstract : Palladium catalysed carbonylative cyclization of aminovinylbromide benzocycloheptenes were carried out using (COOH)2 2H2 O as low cost, sustainable CO source for the synthesis of pyrrolone fused benzosuberene derivatives.
