- Abstract : The cover picture shows tetrathienylethene (TTE) and its derivatives, which, thanks to their peculiar shape, can be considered to be similar to butterflies. This similarity is displayed by the molecules lying on the white, yellow, and orange insects. The ethene core and the four thienyl rings mimic the body and the wings of the butterflies. The color of each butterfly reflects that of the corresponding molecule. The light‐blue curve on which butterflies are flying represents the emission spectrum of TTE in the solid state and the color of its emission. Again, similar to butterflies, TTE and its derivatives are flexible, and "thienyl wings" can rotate to give rise to different conformations. details are discussed in the article by C. Baldoli, E.
